BOON MICHAEL CHARLES McMILLAN Funeral service will take place at Great Yarmouth Minster on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, at 1.30 p.m. Private committal at Gorleston Crematorium afterwards. Family flowers only - donations, if desired, to Cancer Research or RNLI.Tributes

I met Michael in September 2001 when we both started the MSt course in Local and Regional History at Cambridge University. We were at the same College, Corpus Christi, and graduated together on 17 July 2004.
Michael was a keen and enthusiastic local historian, extremely knowledgeable about Yarmouth's history about which he had written extensively. He had many other interests - drama, literature, music, architecture - and was always good company; a "glass half full" person, cheerful and optimistic whenever I saw him. He was also kind and caring - as one of our MSt colleagues has said "a lovely person". May he rest in peace.
