BATES ANNE MARGARET Passed away on June 13th, aged 92, in Ealing House, Martham. Friends and relatives love and miss her, including Wendy, Ivy and Glenda. Funeral service at St George's Church, Rollesby on Thursday, July 13th at 1 p.m. and afterwards at Fliby Bridge. Family flowers only please, but donations in lieu to either St George's Church PCC, Rollesby or Rollesby Community Woodland and sent c/o Gordon Barber Funeral Home, Horning Road West, Hoveton, NR12 8QJ.

Hello, I’ve only just found out the sad news of Anne’s death, and I’m sorry that I am unable to attend her funeral. She was a cousin of my father’s (Frank Wright), and when I was little we used to visit Anne, her mother Margaret and aunt Mary in Rollesby. I attach some photos taken when I was only about 3 years old, with my dad and my mum Joan. We visited on a regular basis on our annual summer holiday to Caister. Unfortunately, we lost contact at a much later date. I have always been so grateful to Anne as she encouraged my reading and interest in wild life. She gave me some books by Beatrix Potter, Arthur Ransome, and Romany of the BBC, which I still have - aged 67!
Please pass on my condolences to anyone who was close to her.
