Kings Lynn Town have lost one of their most highly-rated players.

Midfielder Cameron Hargreaves has departed The Walks, after 85 league and cup appearances.

In a brief statement on their official web site, Lynn's said they had "made several offers but he (Hargreaves) has decided his future lies elsewhere closer to home".

Hargreaves was born in Plymouth and was on the books of Exeter and Bristol Rovers. He was signed by then Lynn boss Tommy Widdrington - now manager at Aldershot - in February 2022 on a one-month loan deal. He was released by Rovers in the summer of 2022 and rejoined Lynn on a permanent deal.

Hargreaves started 36 National League North games for the Linnets last season, scoring four goals, and forming a regular midfield partnership with George Morrison, who has returned to his parent club Fleetwood Town.

Lynn boss Adam Lakeland has signed one player for the new campaign - wide player Ross Crane coming in from Leiston Town.
