Hundreds of free events celebrating local history are to be held across Norfolk.
Heritage Open Days is England’s largest free festival of heritage and culture, attracting thousands of people to a schedule of activities each year.
On September 6, Norfolk Heritage Open Days will return with new and exclusive activities, tours and talks until September 15.

This year’s theme, ‘Routes – Networks – Connections', will celebrate how people and ideas have come together throughout history.
A brochure with more than 200 free events across the county is now available in local libraries, selected venues and online.
Events range from open doors at Oxburgh Hall to poetry performances, illustrated talks, exhibitions and family-friendly activities.
Highlights include uncovering the history of Cromer Pier, secret trails in Saint John’s Cathedral and stories from Norwich Theatre.

Booking opens on August 19 and while all events are free, booking is advised for some due to high demand.
Marking the Heritage Open Days’ 30th anniversary, this year will celebrate three decades of "honouring the ordinary and extraordinary".
