The Wherry Yacht Charter Charitable Trust is inviting adventurers to join five of their wherries, traditional sailing vessels, on a unique voyage to Malthouse Broad at Ranworth this week.

These well known Norfolk Broad vessels will sail in a convoy creating an amazing sight both on the water and the banks of the Broad.

The event on July 25 is designed to celebrate the upcoming Norfolk Day.

The chairman of trustees, Andrew Scull, explained the significance of the event: “What could be more appropriate to mark the county’s annual day than five wherries – icons of the Norfolk Broads – creating a spectacular sight as they enter Malthouse Broad in full sail?

“Proceeds from ticket sales are one of the main sources of income for our charity which restores, maintains and operates five of the last eight remaining wherries in the world.

"So, as well as being part of an historic sailing, people joining the trip will be helping us to keep history sailing for future generations,”

Tickets are priced at £75 each.
