e-Velo bike shop officially opens in Norwich Royal Arcade

Royal Arcade Norwich is the new home of e-Velo, a specialist e-bike store started in Halesworth in Suffolk nine years ago.

The family-run business sells a range of European brands such as Scott and Bergamont to suit all riders and budgets.

The store will also carry a "comprehensive" range of accessories from pannier bags to gloves and locks.

Mark Watkins, director, said, "As you can imagine it has been quite a big project fitting out the new shop and then stocking it but we are delighted that we are now open and ready to speak to the people of Norwich about the benefits of e-bikes.

"As avid cyclists ourselves, our aim is to encourage people of all ages, especially those with reduced function, to be free to enjoy cycling without limitations.

"E-bikes are ideal for people of any age or experience to get active. They provide a boost for mental health and deliver benefits to the environment at the same time."

The shop was previously occupied by Langley's Toy Store which moved to Chantry Place and another unit in the Arcade in 2021.

"We started by selling a mix of traditional and electric bikes but went full electric when we saw how big they were becoming," Mark added.

"And the Arcade premises is exactly what we wanted.

"I'd encourage anyone considering an e-bike to come and see us so that we can talk them through their options."

Opening hours for the next three weeks are 4pm to 8pm Tuesday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

Then from August 13, it will be 9am to 5:30pm Tuesday to Saturday.
