From soap stars to England footballers, plenty of famous faces have been spotted riding the Joyland Super Snails over the years.

The snails have been running at the Great Yarmouth attraction since it opened in 1949 and they are still Joyland's most popular ride.

For many generations of families, heading to the snails has become an integral part of the summer holidays.

And some of these visitors have been celebrities.

In June, the former Conservative minister Anne Widdecombe giggled and waved while riding beside Reform's Rupert Lowe who was in the town during the election campaign.

Internet singer Leon Mallett also included a scene on the ride in his viral parody music video, East Anglian Boy.

Comedians including Jim Davidson, The Chuckle Brothers, Joe Pasquale, Basil Brush, Roy Chubby Brown, David Essex, Michael Barrymore, Elkie Brooks, Noel Edmonds, Steve Wright and Morecambe and Wise have also enjoyed the ride over the years.

This is in addition to sportspeople such as Gary Lineker, Paul Gascoigne, Frank Bruno, Bobby Moore, Eddie the Eagle Edwards and Neil Ruddock.
