The owner of an award-winning farm shop and cafe has been ordered to remove distracting advertising boards along a busy road.

Rebecca Mayhew, owner of Old Hall farm in Woodton, near Bungay, had positioned signs for her business along Norwich Road.

It was then reported to Woodton Parish Council that the signs were "distracting drivers".

Woodton Parish Council reported the complaints to Norfolk Highways which informed Mrs Mayhew that the advertising boards must be removed or an enforcement order would be made.

A spokesman for Norfolk Highways said: "Woodton Parish Council contacted Norfolk County Council and reported that advertising signs for a local business were obstructing the highway.

"Upon inspection, one of our team spoke to the business and asked them to remove the signs in question.

"The business complied and removed the signs themselves.”

Earlier this year the farm made headlines after the body of a missing man, David Ryan, was found on one of the fields at Old Hall Farm.
