Motorists will face disruption tonight due to a closure on part of the A11. 

Roadworks are taking place from Besthorpe until the Attleborough slip road.

The works undertaken by National Highways will see a northbound lane closure.

The closure will run from 10pm tonight until 7am tomorrow to allow the work to be carried out.

It comes just weeks after the road was closed between Thickthorn and Attleborough causing major disruption for drivers as it sent them on a 67-mile-long diversion.

A spokesman for National Highways said: "The surface of concrete roads that were designed between the 1950s and 1970s have an average life span of 50 years.

"Their surfaces are now reaching the stage where they will need to be repaired or replaced for safety reasons and to help them be less noisy and better to drive on."
