A new adventure trail aimed at deepening children's connection with nature is launching at WWT Welney this summer.

The trail, which opened on July 20, consists of nine giant postcards written by various wetland animal characters, offering an insight into their habitat.

The postcards, scattered along a distance of around a mile, will guide young nature enthusiasts through part of the centre's sprawling 1,300 acre wetland.

Emma Brand, events and marketing officer at WWT Welney, said: “We love sharing the wonder of the wetlands with families and can’t wait to welcome them this summer for a truly memorable day out.

"The postcard trail offers a real opportunity for them to explore nature and learn more about wildlife, both here and around the world."

Families completing the trail will receive a WWT Welney postcard as a souvenir to commemorate their outing.
