The care home on St George's Road, Beccles - which is a home for elderly residents and those living with dementia - is owned by Black Swan Care Group.

And this Sunday as the residents cheer England on in the UEFA Euro 2024 final, they will be able to enjoy a tipple in the comfort of their care home - as they roar the Three Lions on in the newly-opened pub.

The pub, named The Mucky Duck, was opened at the care home this week.

With the home and staff at the care home planning to use it for social events and parties and to give residents opportunities to socialise together while enjoying a tipple, manager Amanda Jackson said: "It’s been great to open The Mucky Duck.

"We had a small lounge at the home that residents didn’t use very often, but it’s a lovely space, so we decided to build a bar in there and theme it as a pub.

"We’ll continue to take residents out to local cafés and restaurants in the town, but now we’ve also got a great place for people to go and for them to enjoy a trip to the pub without leaving the care home!"

With the new pub also featuring board games, ahead of the final the care home has been bedecked in St George’s and Union flags, with staff at the home wearing red and white on Sunday to cheer the likes of Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Jordan Pickford to glory.
