Young thespians take on Disney classic to support the Riding for the Disabled charity.

Watlington's budding actors have commenced rehearsals for a production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

Taking on the favourite story 13 years after a performance by the Adult Watlington Players, the Young Players are dedicated to recreating the beloved fairy tale.

The move echoes a successful creative decision made by the group's current chairwoman, Megan Abbott.

Characterised as one of their most ambitious shows so far due to its detailed production style, the group started character and story workshops in February.

The rehearsals involving big chorus numbers and familiar favourites have seen enthusiastic participation.

In a move to show support for a good cause, the Magpie Centre, Riding for The Disabled has been chosen as the charity for this production.

Anticipating a substantial demand for tickets, based on the success of previous classics like Matilda and Alice in Wonderland, the group has scheduled two performances on July 13 and one on July 14 at Watlington Village Hall, King's Lynn.
