Three teenage boys have been rescued after being cut off by the tide in Titchwell.

An emergency call was put out by HM Coastguard leading to RNLI Hunstanton to deploy a hovercraft to the scene at 7pm on Sunday.

The craft descended on a flooding tide to locate the stranded group.

The boys were then rescued and taken to Brancaster where they were handed over to the Coastguard safe and well.

With summer temperatures finally arriving this week, the RNLI has issued a warning to swimmers.

Sam Hughes, water safety education manager, said: "Always visit a lifeguarded beach and swim between the red and yellow flags.

"If you get into trouble in the water, float to live, tilt your head back with ears submerged and try to relax and control your breathing.

"Use your hands to help you stay afloat and then, once you are through the initial shock, call for help or swim to safety if you can.

"In an emergency call 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
