Norfolk is set to welcome a royal visitor next month.

Princess Anne is expected to visit the county on July 18 as she visits Norwich and Brancaster.

According to the Royal Family diary she will be attending Brancaster coastwatch station before travelling to Citizens Advice Norwich later in the day.

For security reasons, the Royal Family does not issue times of the events.

Princess Anne is the royal patron of the National Coastwatch Institution (NCI), which is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

This saw her visit the Cromer station in January, which is one of five in Norfolk alongside Brancaster, Wells, Mundesley and Gorleston.

Stephen Hand, chairman of the NCI, said during that visit: “What a wonderful start to the year in which we will celebrate our 30th anniversary of helping to keep people safe on the coast and save lives at sea by maintaining a daily visual and radio watch.

"It’s a huge source of pride that HRH The Princess Royal is our patron and that she takes such an active interest in our work."

The Princess Royal also officially opened the Norfolk Schools Sailing Association's new facilities at Filby Broad.

Last year, the Princess Royal climbed the 112 winding steps to the top of Happisburgh Lighthouse as she visited the county.
