Former pupils and teachers who attended a Wymondham school over a 40-year period are being invited to a reunion.

Organiser Sarah Diack has already had contact with many people with links with Browick Road school from the 1940s-1980s ahead of the event on Friday June 14, 7pm.

She said:  "I wanted to reunite old teachers and pupils to share memories and re-visit the school. This is something that has been mentioned many times and has taken a while to organise, but we're finally there.

"I personally have so many memories of the school such as the many school plays and shows which were put on, the cardboard birthday cake used weekly in assembly to celebrate a person's birthday that was rolled out week in week out and seeing the headteacher to get a jelly baby for doing well in class!"

Sarah recalled headteachers from her time were Mrs Cushion, Mr Gledhill and Mrs Warman and teachers Miss Stowers, Miss Wade, Mrs Cooke, Mrs Tovey, Mrs Osborne, Mrs Britton, Mrs Sandford and Mrs Warman.

She said: "Some have sadly passed now but it would be a lovely opportunity for those still with us to see their old pupils."

It is hoped a tree will be planted on the school field in memory ex teachers and pupils

People attending are being asked for a £5 donation per person on the day of the reunion at the school, with all money going towards improvements to the school library.
