Holidaymakers staying at a north Norfolk campsite reported being blocked inside the park by a fallen tree.

A woman staying there, who would prefer not to be named, said she was due to return home to work in Warwickshire this morning but was not able to leave until around 2.30pm because of the tree which fell across a lane at the site's exit overnight.

Speaking before they were able to leave the site, she said: "Some people have been packed up and ready to leave since 8am but the cars just can't get past.

"We have been here camping in a tent and there is nowhere here to wait in the dry - there is a children's play park but no clubhouse or cafe."

She added: "It's very stressful and we haven't been given any real information.

"I just want to be home now - one of the guys here is a DJ who is booked for a wedding tomorrow."

The Camping and Caravanning Club, which operates the site, has been contacted for comment.
