Entries for the Customer Excellence Award, sponsored by Greater Anglia, at the EDP Business Awards 2024 are now open.

This award recognises the importance of providing an all-round outstanding experience for customers, regardless of business size or sector.

“We believe that high standards of customer service are central to the success of any organisation and they are at the heart of our own strategy,” said Jonathan Denby, head of corporate affairs at Greater Anglia, returning sponsor for this year.

“It was evident from the 2023 entrants that many Norfolk businesses place excellent customer service at the heart of their strategies for success and are committed to providing a consistently high-quality service for their customers or clients.”

Regularly measuring customer satisfaction and assessing feedback are two processes that Mr Denby said are essential for businesses, not just as a way to improve relations with existing customers, but to appeal to new ones too.

“Only by constantly checking customer satisfaction and feedback can you be sure what your customers think and thereby evolve and improve your plans to provide a better service for them,” said Mr Denby, “which then will both increase satisfaction and help your business succeed by attracting and retaining more customers.”

An effective customer service strategy is an attribute shared by many top businesses and, according to Mr Denby, it has a range of benefits too.

“It enables companies to attract customers and retain them, thereby enabling the business to grow and succeed. It’s these attributes that will mark out the best companies in this year’s Customer Excellence Award.”

The winner of this award will exemplify outstanding customer service, delivering “excellent customer satisfaction results” along with evidence that it “regularly goes the extra mile for customers”, earning a high-profile endorsement of its customer service strategy.

“Such recognition can only reinforce and build your business’ reputation and potentially underpin even greater success in the future,” concluded Mr Denby.
