A man who was arrested on suspicion of causing the death of a 13-year-old cyclist in a hit-and-run last year has been re-bailed for a fourth time.

Alfie Brown, from North Walsham, died when he was knocked off his bike by a white Ford Ranger truck on the B1145 Knapton Road, near the village of Swafield, on August 10 last year.

Alfie, who was due to start Year 9 at North Walsham High School, was cycling home at around 6.24pm when he was struck by the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 50s, was arrested later that night on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop.

He has now been re-bailed for a fourth time, until August 10 - which will be a year since Alfie's death.

At an inquest review into his death earlier this year, Norfolk Coroner's Court heard how a full hearing would proceed once further “technical analysis” as part of the police investigation was complete.
