A retired farmer died following surgery at a Norfolk hospital, an inquest has heard.
Alex Tunnicliff, of Dersingham near King's Lynn, had been admitted for an operation at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital on April 11.
Following the procedure, the 70-year-old had a heart attack and died two weeks later on April 25.
An inquest into his death was opened by the senior coroner, Jacqueline Lake, at Norfolk Coroner’s Court earlier this month.
The court, based at County Hall in Norwich, heard that Mr Tunnicliff was born on November 15, 1953, in Dersingham, and lived in the village at Cente Crescent.
The primary medical cause of death was given as “hypoxic brain injury due to an in-hospital cardiac arrest”.
A full inquest to determine the official cause of death will take place at the court in October.
