An inquest has opened into the death of a 60-year-old man who died after choking on food.
Paul Nichols, of Stonemasons Court in Acle, was taken to hospital on March 28 after being witnessed choking on food by his carer.
On Thursday, an inquest to establish the circumstances surrounding his death was opened in Norfolk Coroner's Court at County Hall in Norwich.
During a short hearing, area coroner Samantha Goward confirmed Mr Nichols was born in Runham, but was living in Acle at the time of his death.
She said: "On March 28, Mr Nichols was seen to choke by his carer.
"An ambulance was called and CPR followed but the food could not be removed."
Mr Nichols was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, but died after he was admitted.
A full inquest into his death has been scheduled to take place at 2pm on August 14.
