A man had just collected a new stock of cannabis which was found by police after a car he was a passenger in was involved in a crash in Norwich, a court has heard.
Jamie Cave, 36, was in a car in a collision with another vehicle close to Tesco petrol station near the Fiveways roundabout on Earlham Road.
Norwich Crown Court heard police found "three jars full of cannabis" in a rucksack belonging to Cave as well as a cannabis grinder, with herbal cannabis in it, in the car.
Cave was arrested after a total of 139.78g of cannabis found in the car on November 26 2022.
A search of his home resulted in police finding more cannabis while messages on his phone revealed a number of messages relating to supplying other people.
In total just under 8oz of cannabis was found by police as well as £600 in cash, scales, dealer bags and a heating lamp which Mr James said showed "some dedication" to cultivating cannabis.
Judge Katharine Moore, who said Cave has had "an association at some length with cannabis misuse", imposed a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for 15 months.
She said he was a heavy cannabis user who had been "self-medicating" since a diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) some years earlier.
Cave was also ordered to do 15 days Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.
