Leanne's Anime and Collectibles set to open in Gorleston

Leanne's Anime and Collectibles will open for the first time in Baker Street in Gorleston on Friday.

Its owner, Leanne Page, has been running a pop-up version of the store at various Comic-Con events across the country for six years but has now decided to secure her business a permanent base.

Miss Page, who grew up watching anime and has made a lot of friends through the community, said that owning a physical shop had always been her goal.

"I've always wanted a shop but everyone said the high street was dying," she explained.

"But it's always been my dream so when this opportunity came up I just went for it."

Miss Page will be selling anime merchandise, figurines, gaming items, toys and gifts such as wallets and keyrings from franchises including Pokemon, Nintendo and Funko.

She said her store stands out from other similar sellers because everything is sourced directly from Japan.

"I can offer things that the supermarkets can't - I go over to Japan every six months to search for new stock," she said.

"There are no other gaming shops like mine in the area, even in the city, so it's really exciting."

Miss Page will be hosting a grand opening to celebrate her new venture on Saturday, March 9 and has booked cosplayers to dress as some popular characters to roam the street and take photos with passers-by.

She added that she will continue to sell at Comic Cons such as NorCon and Great Yarmouth Comic Con throughout the year and looks forward to seeing some familiar faces in her store.
