An estate agency which has been trading in Norfolk since the 1960s has been bought following the retirement of its three directors.

Geoffrey Collings & Co, founded in 1965 in Kings Lynn, had been looking for new owners since the announcement its current board of directors was set to retire after a combined 150 years in the property industry.

The Norfolk Agents, a “hybrid” agency which works with clients both on and offline, will take over the business, in a move it said felt like “a natural progression” for the company.

The new owners said they would keep all four of the company’s West Norfolk offices open, plus staff.

Geoffrey Collings’ outgoing director Andrew Holford said he believed the takeover would put the business in a good position for the future.

He added: “By selecting The Norfolk Agents, we believe that our clients will receive a blend of traditional, old-fashioned service but by utilising the very latest in technology and modern marketing ideas and techniques, they will get the very best customer service our experienced staff can give, and benefit from a modern approach to estate agency.”
