Dog walkers were left shocked after seeing a man carrying a sword on a popular footpath.

Police went to Marriott's Way at Thorpe Marriott on the edge of Norwich at about 11.30am on Tuesday following several reports from people who were concerned for their safety.

Police completed a thorough search of the area, but the man was not found.

Two reports were posted anonymously on social media warning locals in Thorpe Marriott and Drayton not to walk down the Marriott's Way route.
