A new free walking trail exploring historical sites has been launched in Norwich.

Produced by The Norwich Society in partnership with the Norwich War Memorials Trust, the self-guided trail takes people around the city's war memorials and sites of historical significance.

The Norwich Society, which supports the preservation and development of historic sites in the city, promotes the history of Norwich through a range of talks, walks and events.

The trail includes locations such as Chapelfield Gardens, the earliest surviving ornamental public open space in Norwich, and the memorial gardens outside City Hall which are Grade II listed in recognition of their architectural and historic value.

Formed in 2010, the Norwich War Memorial Trust was built to help care for Norwich City Council war memorials and the trail is designed to help commemorate those who have served the country in times of war.

Covering approximately two miles, the trail should take around an hour and a half to complete.

The route is available to download via The Norwich Society website.
