A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court in connection with an incident in which another man was stabbed six times.
Jonathan Wilson, 50, is accused of attacking the victim with a 9-inch knife during an argument at a property off Marl Pit Lane on February 3.
Appearing in the dock at Norwich Magistrates’ Court, Wilson, of Gentry Place, who otherwise spoke only to confirm his name and address, pleaded not guilty to a single charge of wounding with intent.
Calvin Sacker, for Wilson, said he claimed to have acted in self-defence during the incident which happened close to where he lived.
Josephine Jones, prosecuting, had earlier told the court that the victim had been treated for six stab wounds at the top of his left leg.
Magistrates committed his trial to be heard at Norwich Crown Court saying it was too serious for their powers.
They ordered Wilson remain on remand in prison until a first hearing on March 4 after approving a prosecution application for him to be denied bail.
