Here are some of the criminals put behind bars in the week beginning January 29.

Eastern Daily Press: Dean Ward Dean Ward (Image: Norfolk Constabulary)Dean Ward has been jailed after describing his depraved sexual fantasies online to an undercover police officer.

The 39-year-old told the officer how he was abusing his eight-year-old daughter, though the child did not actually exist.

He also talked about the abuse he "wanted to happen" to the child and to the undercover officer's six-year-old daughter, who also did not exist.

Ward, who has five previous convictions including sexual assault and making indecent images of children, was sentenced on Tuesday after admitting to arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence.

He also admitted three breaches of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) between May and June 2023.

Ward, of Barrett Road in Norwich, was handed a sentence of 13 years, made up of nine-and-a-half-years imprisonment and three-and-a-half years on licence.

He was also made the subject of a SHPO and put on the sex offenders register indefinitely.

Jamie Pymm

Disqualified motorcyclist Jamie Pymm caused a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a mobility scooter user as he crossed the A149 at Heacham.

The victim, a double amputee, required extensive treatment for injuries including a fractured hip following the crash near the entrance to the Lynn Road BP filling station on May 16 last year.

Pymm did not stop after the crash and appeared before Norwich Crown Court, sitting at King's Lynn, last week after having been convicted of five offences.

These included causing serious injury by careless driving, failing to stop, driving while disqualified, having no insurance and riding a bike unfit to be on the road.

Pymm, of Ingolside in Snettisham, had been convicted of dangerous driving in 1997 and 2010 and driving while disqualified in 2001 and 2004, the court was told.

He was jailed for eight months and disqualified from driving for three years and four months.
