A47 closed near March after crash involving a bus and van

Police, fire crews and the ambulance service were all at the scene of a crash involving a bus and a van on the A47 at just after 5pm.

The road has been closed in both directions between the turnings for the A141 near March and Guyhirn and B1167 for Thorney in Cambridgeshire.

The number of people involved and whether anyone has been injured are not yet known.

The vehicles have been recovered by the road will remain closed while road traffic police conduct an investigation takes place into the collision this evening.

Diversions have been put in place. 

Westbound traffic

At the roundabout with the A141 take the 1st exit onto the A141, towards March.

Continue to the traffic light-controlled junction with the A605 (less than 1 mile) and turn right onto the A605 towards Whittlesey/Goosetree.

Remain on the A605 for approximately 14 miles, passing through Coates and Whittlesey, to the A605 roundabout with Flaxley Road south of Peterborough.

At the roundabout take the 3rd exit to remain on the A605 towards Peterborough.

Continue to the next roundabout and take the 3rd exit to join the A1139

Travel along the A1139 for approximately 4 miles to the "Eye Roundabout" and take the 2nd exit to remain on the A1139

At the next roundabout take the 1st exit and then at the following roundabout (Littlewood Roundabout) re-join the A47

Eastbound traffic

At the "Littlewood Roundabout" take the third exit southbound onto the A1139, towards Peterborough.

Continue to the "Eye Roundabout" with the A15 and take the 2nd exit to remain on the A1139.

Travel along the A1139 for approximately 4 miles and exit at J3A to join the A605.

At the next roundabout take the 1st exit to remain on the A605

Continue along the A605 for approximately 14 miles, passing through Whittlesey and Coates, to the traffic light controlled junction with the A141

At the junction turn left onto the A141 north and continue to the next roundabout to re-join the A47
