Over the last fifteen years, Stephanie Arlow has experienced some of the worse heartache a parent can go through. 

Now, the 38-year-old is speaking out for first time about her struggles with PTSD following three miscarriages and an unexpected death. 

The mother, from Waveney Drive, Lowestoft, has vowed to help others who may have experienced the same pain.

She said: “I have had the misfortune to have suffered three miscarriages, alongside a sudden unexpected death within our family which coincided with my last loss.

“This left me a broken women and subsequently I suffered with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). 

“I have been on a long journey of acceptance, healing and recovery over the last four years.

“I thankfully have found myself in a much better place and even now to the point where I feel compelled to help others along their journey.” 

During her struggles, she was introduced to Time Norfolk. 

The Norfolk-based charity invited her to an evening of remembrance for miscarriage and baby loss at Norwich Cathedral.

She added: “This was quite a moment in my healing journey.” 

She has since undertaken counselling, reiki healing, and attended well-being programmes. As a result, she decided to create her own service of remembrance to help others. 

“I spend a lot time in Gunton woods and my dear father-in-law was laid to rest in the peaceful woodland memorial park, so St Peter’s Church in Gunton seemed the perfect choice. 

“I wish for the service to be uplifting and supportive.   

"We have all been through the heartache already, the service is for remembrance and acknowledgement.”

A special service for parents will be held by the Rev Nigel Lacey in honour of babies loved and never held or taken too soon. 

The service will be held on Thursday, October 12 at 7pm, and will be a chance to meet and chat with like-minded people.
