A community campaign is hoping to ‘raise the roof’ in order to save theirs.
The board for Reepham’s community building, the Bircham Centre, are raising £10,000 for the Raise the Roof campaign - inviting supporters to sponsor tiles on the building so essential repairs can be undertaken.
The campaign, launched in March, has already raised a quarter of the total.
Chair of the board, Les West, said “Reepham people are always supportive of the Bircham Centre and recognise the important role it plays in the community. We are so grateful for their generosity: we can’t survive without it.”
The funds will make up half of the total needed to provide match funding offered to the centre by Broadland District Council’s “Pride in Place” initiative.
The remaining half will come from donations already received and other fundraisings.
Polly Brockis, Bircham Centre manager, added: “The work on the roof will protect this lovely building and keep it safe for future generations.”
Donations can be made at https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/raisethebirchamcentreroof or in person at the Centre.
